Pada perlawanan pertama tempoh hari ketika Malaysia bertemu Singapore, ada sesetengah penyokong pasukan Harimau Malaya terutamanya peminat Wan Zack Haikal sedikit 'terkilan apabila melihat penampilan Wan Zack Haikal dengan rambut perangnya. Tetapi walaubagaimana pada final Pesta Bola Merdeka 2013 malam ini [Malaysia Vs Myanmar], jika Wan Zack Haikal diturunkan oleh jurulatih Ong Kim Swee pastinya beliau dengan rambut barunya iaitu rambut botak.hehe. Menurut laporan Harian Metro, 2 tonggak pemain Harimau Malaya iaitu Wan Zack Haikal dan Junior Eldstal (Putera Nadher Amarhan) belum pasti diturunkan kerana Wan Zack belum pulih lagi dari masalah kecederaan buku lali kiri dan Junior Eldstal mengalami cirit birit.

Wan Zack who is plying his trade in Japan with division three side FC Ryukyu was however happy to play alongside midfielder Junior Eldstal from Sarawak.
Touching on the next match, Wan Zack Haikal said Myanmar pose a threat to teams in the Merdeka Cup football tournament.
"We have to be careful with their tactics and fast game as shown in their 1-1 draw against Thailand yesterday," he said. – BERNAMA
