MALAYSIA must show more hunger and consistency when they play unpredictable Taiwan in their AFC Under-22 Qualifiers Group G match in Yangon today.

Though Malaysia are confident of recording their second straight win after the 7-0 thrashing of the Philippines on Monday, coach Ong Kim Swee, however, fears complacency.

"Every match here is like a final and we cannot afford to drop any points if we hope to qualify for the tournament proper next year," said Kim Swee when contacted in Yangon yesterday.

"My players are feeling good and getting better after each match. They, however, must show more hunger as I want them to beat Taiwan comprehensively.

"We must continue with the winning attitude as after that, we have difficult matches against Vietnam and Myanmar."

They play Vietnam on Saturday before ending their campaign against Myanmar on Tuesday.

The team, who were edged 3-2 by South Korea in last weekend's opening match, were given a break from football on Tuesday, where they did some shopping and sightseeing.

"They have been playing too much of football of late. I hope the break will keep them fresh and motivated," said the 41-year-old coach.

They returned to training yesterday, where Kim Swee drilled them with the tactics for today's match.

On the team's fragile back-line, Kim Swee said Fadhli Shas' return has added more stability.

"The defenders will need to be alert against Taiwan as they have strikers who are quick and strong.

"Taiwan will be going all-out as like us, they need to win to remain in contention for at least second spot here," Kim Swee added.

Malaysia, however, will not have the services of the suspended Wan Zack Haikal Wan Noor and the injured Amer Saidin while striker A. Thamil Arasu is doubtful.
